Ez Pass Agreement
(d) that failure to comply with a positive balance in the E-ZPass account may result in unpaid tolls, violations, offences, administrative fees, bank account closures and/or a summons to court, depending on the circumstances. (k) maintain a safe distance of at least one vehicle length when passing tolls. The user agrees to manage a prepaid account with the Service Center to cover the user`s tolls, fees and applicable fees. In the event of non-compliance with a positive balance, this is a violation of this agreement and may subject the user to the loss of rebates, administrative fees, unpaid tolls, as defined by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the toll system or a state in which the use took place, and the termination of that agreement. The user accepts that it is their responsibility to monitor their use and balance. E-ZPass offers a wide range of ways to check account balances (including, but not limited to quarterly and monthly balances, online verification, and balance of yellow light ads in some places) and will attempt to warn the customer of balance warnings as a courtesy. E-ZPass is not responsible for the consequences of not complying with a positive account balance. The user is responsible for infringements, royalties, fees, tolls and/or other fees collected in the event of non-compliance with a positive balance. No interest is paid on prepaid accounts. Subject to the terms of this agreement, the E-ZPass Service Centre undertakes to provide the user with a transponder (Standard E-ZPass or E-ZPass Flex) that can in turn use it to obtain passage on toll roads that E-ZPass accepts. (a) tolls applicable each time the transponder is used to get the passage, further or from an E-ZPass or participating E-ZPass collection area.
E-ZPass On-the-Go transponders can only be used for two-axle passenger cars. E-ZPass On-the-Go transponders must be registered by providing the E-ZPass account holder`s information to obtain the full credit. If you do not register an E-ZPass on-the-Go transponder within 48 hours of first use, this may lead to the cancellation of the transponder. It can take up to 48 hours after registration to reactivate an invalid transponder. b) That the use of the transponder in HOV mode with fewer people in the vehicle where a HOV reduction is available is an abuse of the transponder. The user accepts that if the user is not notified of incorrect use, if the user does not cancel the notification, the user`s E-ZPass account can be calculated for the unscaled toll, which is effective at the time of inappropriate use. Incorrect HOV declarations are also subject to roadside prosecution, which may result in administrative costs, legal penalties and fines. (r) to fully know all the specific conditions of use of the facility before using the transponder on this toll device. q) Do not travel with more than one transponder in a vehicle.
Unclaimed positive balances are considered unclaimed property in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The E-ZPass is owned by VDOT. Each transponder that has been modified, disfigured or damaged in one way or another charges $10.00 for each standard transponder and $20.00 for each Flex transponder. If the account balance falls below or below the fill threshold, the user agrees to complete the account with one of the following methods. It is expressly understood and accepted that an E-ZPass user authorizes the E-ZPass Service Center to access the user`s credit card, debit card or ACH and to collect a fee authorized under this Agreement.
